Student Connections

At WTC, we want to expand your college experience beyond the classroom. Student Connections needs you to be part of their team by coordinating activities throughout the year that provide opportunities for students to meet and interact in fun social settings.

Community Involvement

Each year students have the opportunity to get out of the classroom and get involved with several community initiatives. Volunteer opportunities have included Habitat for Humanity, Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba, Coats for Kids, along with many community relation events for WTC.

Annual Competitions

Put your new skills to the test before you graduate! WTC students participate in several provincial and national competitions yearly. Competitive opportunities allow you to meet with industry leaders and students from other colleges across the province or country. Do you think you have what it takes? Check out these opportunities:

  • Skills Manitoba

Students compete in over 40 different contests within the skilled trades and technology areas. Gold medal winners will form Team Manitoba and compete against their peers at the Canadian Skills Competition hosted by a new province each year. This is a great way to network with your future industry. For further information, visit: http://www.skillsmanitoba.ca.

  • Allied Beauty Association (ABA)

The ABA Show and Competition allows students to participate in educational seminars and network with industry suppliers and contacts. The conference also hosts an Annual Competition which provides opportunity for WTC Hairstyling students to show off their creativity and talent. • Phoenix Challenge

Each year a team of WTC Production Art students participate in the Phoenix Challenge and its annual High School and College Flexographic Skills Competitions.
