Entrance Awards/Bursaries

Kiwanis Club Bursary

The Kiwanis Club provides assistance to students in the form of a bursary (subject to annual review).
Criteria:

  • Co-op Vocational Education (CVE) students
  • Demonstrates financial need
  • Shows solid program achievement

Louise and Allan Windas Bursary

The Louise and Allan Windas Bursary is awarded to a post-secondary student in financial need entering Winnipeg Technical College to acquire technical/vocational career training.

Criteria:

  • Demonstrates financial need
  • Regular program registration
  • Full-time or part-time study (minimum 50% of full program)
  • Must not receive other support for training or more than limited financial support

Funds will be distributed upon successful completion of the program.

Manitoba Blue Cross Scholarship Bursary

Program Special Needs Bursary

Criteria:

  • Additional expenses were incurred to attend the College

Entrance Award

Criteria:

  • Grade 12 student
  • High academic achievement
  • Demonstrates financial need

Traveller’s Bursary

Criteria:

  • Grade 12 student
  • High academic achievement
  • Financial need
  • Must travel more than 100 km (one way) to attend the College

Manitoba Lotteries Corporation Employment Equity Education Award

The Manitoba Lotteries Corporation Employment Equity Education Award is given to one post-secondary student from each of the following four recognized employment equity groups:

  • Aboriginal peoples
  • Persons with disabilities
  • Visible minorities
  • Woman in or aspiring to be in male-dominated occupations

The money will be applied directly to the tuition of the successful applicant.

Criteria:

  • Must be a resident of Manitoba in good academic standing within your high school and about to graduate or have graduated from high school within the last three years
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada and seeking full-time enrolment (as directed by the educational institute) in first year studies in a program outlined below
  • Must be entering a full-time first year/ University 1at one of the eligible schools with intention of continuing full-time studies in a degree, diploma, or certificate program relating to: Architecture, Business, Computer Science, Education, Engineering, Fine Arts, Hospitality, Justice/Law, Law Enforcement, Liberal Arts, Mathematics or Technology

Candidates having previous post-secondary education will not be considered.

Successful applicants who do not remain full-time students will become ineligible.

Technical Education Scholarship

This scholarship is open to all members of the graduating class from each of the high schools in Pembina Trails School Division who have enrolled for a full-time program at WTC immediately following graduation. The selection of the recipient shall be made by the shareholding school or school division.
Criteria:

  • A minimum average of 75% in the school year during which the graduation requirements are met
  • Demonstrated an interest in and an aptitude for applied skills or the application of knowledge to practical tasks
