It is recommended that all post-secondary applicants attend the College TecQuest before applying. During this session, information will be provided regarding College programs, the application processes and tuition fees. Call 989-6500.
STEP 1:
The College receives applications for post-secondary enrolment from various sources. Please review the three categories below to identify the one that fits your special circumstances, then proceed as directed, finishing with STEP 2.
Category 1: Applicants Who Meet Entrance Requirements
(Refer to the program for which you are applying for entrance requirements.) If applicants can provide a transcript from a Canadian high school meeting the program entrance requirements, proceed to STEP 2.
Applicants will be contacted when a seat becomes available and will be required to complete the applicable tuition management information form. Applications will remain on file for one year. If you wish to remain on a waitlist beyond one year, you will be required to reapply.
Category 2: Mature Student Option – Applicants Who Do Not Meet Entrance Requirements
(Refer to the program for which you are applying for entrance requirements.) If applicants provide a transcript from a Canadian high school but do not meet the program entrance requirements, the following process will apply:
Write the Canadian Adult Achievement Test:
The Canadian Adult Achievement Test (CAAT) measures the skill level of applicants in the areas of math and English. This testing is not a measure of English Language Proficiency.
Appointments to write the CAAT can be made after attending a College Information session (TecQuest) or by calling 989-6500. You will receive a letter regarding your eligibility for admission to a College program within two weeks of writing the test.

Category 3: Applicants Educated Outside of Canada
If applicants are educated outside of Canada, applicants must meet 1) English Language Proficiency, 2) Program Entrance Requirements, and the following process will apply:
English Language Proficiency:
All instruction within the College is in English; therefore, in order to be successful in a program, it is important for all students to have a level of English proficiency that will allow them to participate in all aspects of the program. For those students whose first language is not English or education is from out of country where English is not the primary language used in the home, school, and business, you will need to provide evidence of having sufficient English language skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. The application process will not start until evidence of English Language Proficiency has been provided.
Applicants from countries where English is their first language may be exempt from testing for English Language Proficiency. Education documents will be required.
Students that have met the required score for English Language Proficiency will also have met the program entrance requirements for English.
Program Entrance Requirements:
Program specific English, Math and/or Science entrance requirements may be met by submitting evidence (i.e., official transcripts) of having successfully completed post-high school courses in the country of origin. The official transcripts and other supporting documentation must be in English or have certified English translation attached. Students that have met the English Language Proficiency test score will have met the program entrance requirements for English.
The following process will apply:
Provide evidence of meeting English Language Proficiency.
Proceed to STEP 2.
If program entrance requirements have not been met, write the Canadian Adult Achievement Test, see Category 2, #1.
