All instruction within the College is in English; therefore, in order to be successful in a program, it is important for all students to have a level of English proficiency that will allow them to participate in all aspects of the program. For those students whose first language is not English or education is from out of country where English is not the primary language used in the home, school, and business, you will need to provide evidence of having sufficient English language skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. The application process will not start until evidence of English Language Proficiency has been provided.
Applicants from countries where English is their first language may be exempt from testing for English Language Proficiency. Education documents will be required. Please visit the College’s website at www.wtc.mb.ca or phone 204-989-6500 for the list of countries that are exempt.
Students that have met the required score for English Language Proficiency will also have met the program entrance requirements for English.
English Proficiency can be demonstrated in the following ways:
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
Required score:
Paper-based (PBT): Achieve a minimum score of 550 with no less than 50 (unscaled) in each of the component scores
Computer-based (CBT): Achieve a minimum score of 213 with no less than 17 in each component score
Internet-based (iBT): Achieve a minimum score of 80 with no less than 19 on each component
