Welcome to Waterton-Glacier

In Waterton-Glacier, the majestic Rocky Mountains rise suddenly out of the rolling prairies. Enjoy an entrancing view of rugged lands, where diverse ecological regions meet in a flurry of natural beauty. Previously known in Canada as Waterton Lakes National Park and in U.S.A. as Montana's Glacier National Park, Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park was formed by the merging of the two parks in 1932.

Parks, Peace, and Partnerships 2007This special international conference is being convened to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park. The conference goal is to create a gathering of international significance to discuss trends, experiences and best practices in transboundary protected areas management with a special emphasis on Peace Parks.

Please join us in Waterton, next September 2007, to share in the exchange of knowledge and experience of Peace Park and transboundary protected area initiatives. For more information, see the Peace Parks 2007 web site.
