Freshwater Fish

Owning freshwater fish has one clear advantage over saltwater fish and that is that they can be kept and bred by almost anyone. Even a beginner can successfully keep these fish. There is one difficulty, though, and that is that each type of fish has very different needs in terms of temperature, pH, hardness, etc.

The freshwater fish families include live bearers, cichlids, labyrinths, characins, catfish and loaches, and many others.
