Entrance Requirements
Applicants should be currently enrolled in or have successfully completed credits or equivalent standing from a Canadian school in:
- Grade 12 Math (40S)
- Grade 12 English Language Arts (40S)

It is strongly recommended that students entering this program have a demonstrated knowledge of basic keyboard and mouse applications, and working knowledge of either Windows or Macintosh operating systems. Previous training or experience in creative software applications is also recommended.
Successful employment in the Web Design field requires:
- Strong English language skills

- Creativity and problem solving skills
- Interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to distinguish colours accurately
- Capability of meeting deadlines
Program Length/Start Dates/Location:
- Full-time students - 9 months
- Class hours - day (8:30 am to 3:30 pm)
- Location - Henlow Campus
- Start dates - September (If space is available, another intake will be integrated into the class.)
Work Practicum
The Web Design program features a four week Work Practicum placement in a local workplace to provide students with relevant practical experience. The placement enables students to apply the skills learned in the classroom, learn on-the-job procedures and develop valuable job contacts.
Employment Opportunities
Graduates of this program become digital graphic layout technicians and web interface designers. They usually find employment with local advertising and publishing companies, communication departments in business or government services, or they may become self-employed.
The Cumulative Employment Rate for graduates of this program for the period of July 2003 to June 2008 is 95%.
The median wage for students graduating from this program between July 2007 and June 2008 is $12.00 per hour.

This section includes an investigation of employment options and employer expectations. Students identify skill areas related to strengthening employment goals. |
