Program Description

The Technical Drafting program provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to translate ideas, sketches and specifications into accurate working drawings, using both manual and computer-assisted drafting techniques. The course content of Technical Drafting includes credits in architectural, civil, machine and miscellaneous drafting. A program containing 10 credits, of which 5 core subjects are required, is customized for each student.

Students graduating from the Technical Drafting program who have successfully completed civil and environmental drafting at the 40S level will receive full credit for CAD and drafting courses in the first year of the Civil Technology program at Red River College. Graduates will also receive up to 70% credit in related civil courses that could be obtained up to a maximum of one full year of credit towards a Civil Technology diploma from Red River College.
