| Entrance Requirements
Prospective students should be currently enrolled in or have successfully completed credits or equivalent standing from a Canadian school in:
- Grade 10 Math (20S)
- Grade 10 English Language Arts (20F)

Program Length/Start Dates/Location:
Full-time students: 12 months Half-time students: 24 months
The Hairstyling program offers both day and evening classes. Class hours:
Morning - 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Afternoon - 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Day - 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Evening - 3:45 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Location: Henlow Campus
Start Dates - September, November, February, and April
Apprenticeship
After the first year and 1500 hours of apprenticeship, students complete a practical examination administered by the Apprenticeship Board. After passing the exam, students complete a second year and 1500 hours of apprenticeship and then write a final theory exam. A minimum score of 70% on both exams is required to receive a Certificate of Qualification.
Employment Opportunities
Graduates of this program usually find work as Hairstylists with local private and chain hair salons. Opportunities also exist as receptionists, product technicians, beauty sales representatives, and salon owners and managers.
The Cumulative Employment Rate for graduates of this program for the period of July 2003 to June 2008 is 93%.
The median wage for students graduating from this program between July 2007 and June 2008 is $9.35 per hour.
Work Practicum
The Hairstyling program features a Work Practicum placement in a local workplace which provides students with valuable on-the-job training and experience. Students willy apply skills learned in the classroom and develop new skills through working within an actual employer's facility. The Work Practicum placement is done near the end of the program.
